Selection process

Our selection and assessment is a two way process. We want to make absolutely sure we are choosing the right person to join our team and also that you are choosing the right career to make the most of your talents.

Once you have decided which Stream you would like to apply for, and are confident you meet the required criteria, you should:

Complete an online application form

Your application form is your first introduction to us. Please follow the instructions carefully and answer all of the questions to give yourself the best opportunity of progressing.

Complete our online tests

If your application stands out, you will be asked to complete an online test which will give you a flavour for real-life work situations our graduates deal with on a daily basis. You may also be asked to complete a numerical test.

Attend an assessment centre

If you are successful in completing the online tests, we will invite you to an assessment centre. Our assessment centres take place throughout the UK in our recruiting offices. They involve individual and group exercises, which will help you learn more about the demands of our roles while allowing us to assess your suitability for them.

Have a one-to-one interview with your line manager

Depending on your chosen Stream you may be asked to attend a one-to-one interview. This would be the final stage of the process and a great opportunity for both us and you to ask any remaining questions.

Receive an offer

We will make a decision quickly, taking into consideration your performance throughout the process. You will receive a phone call with the details of the offer and a contract will follow in the post.

What next?

Once you have completed your paperwork, and are looking forward to joining us, we will keep in touch to tell you about our news. You will be invited to a Welcome Day which will provide you with the opportunity to network with other graduates joining the Programme, as well as meeting with the business and your team.

What are we looking for?

One of the key differentiators between Aon and our competitors is our people and how they behave with our clients and each other. How we do things is just as important as what we do.

In our application and selection process, we look for graduates who share our values and have the potential to integrate our five principles with their roles in order to thrive.

Our principles are:

1. Delivering distinctive client value

This means that our people are empowered to make an impact, building relationships and using their knowledge and the best available resources at Aon to provide clients with distinctive solutions to their challenges.

2. Developing unmatched teams

This means we identify and develop talented individuals. We create high-performing teams by encouraging continuous learning and development, giving honest feedback and providing positive management.

3. Building differentiated capability

This means we innovate to solve our clients’ problems. Innovation is focused and comes from a deep understanding of our own and our customers' business.

4. Delivering business results

This means we go the extra mile and use everything at our disposal to deliver with excellence.

5. Living the values of Aon

This means we act with integrity at all times, making a positive impact on colleagues, clients and communities alike. We want our people to be proud of Aon and the values we stand for.
