What do our summer internships offer students?

Introduction to the Programme:

The Aon UK summer internships typically last for 8-10 weeks. They are designed to give you an understanding of our culture, as well as some experience of the profession that interests you.

We challenge our summer interns to make a difference in line with our Corporate Social Responsibility policies. All interns are involved in group charity projects which help our communities and allow you to demonstrate your ability to work with clients and develop your team working and communication skills.

Around our businesses, internship programmes are viewed as a high-potential pipeline for our graduate programmes. As an intern, you will be fully supported by the people you meet to maximise your exposure to our business and help you to get the most out of your time with us.

During summer 2012, Aon UK internships will be running in the following Streams:

  • Actuarial Consulting – Pensions
  • Actuarial Consulting - General Insurance
  • Investment Consulting
  • Insurance, Reinsurance and Risk Management
  • Financial Benefits Advisory

Training and development:

During your placement, you will be contributing to our business, taking on real responsibilities and having to manage your work effectively. You will be assigned a mentor to help guide you through your placement and answer any questions you have about your work and our business.

Technical training and business skills will be a core part of your programme, ensuring you leave us with a better understanding of the professional world and how best to make your way in it.

Although an internship does not guarantee a place on our Graduate Programme, a significant proportion of our summer interns have gone on to successfully embark on a career with us.

Requirements:

If you are at university, predicted to gain at least a 2:1 or equivalent qualification, and have a high level of commercial awareness, lots of ambition and an enthusiastic approach, we want to hear from you.
